National Policy

Summary of Change. Volume 3, Chapter 18, Section 3, Part A Operations Specifications—General, and Volume 3, Chapter 58, Section 4, Fatigue Education and Awareness Training (FEAT) Program Approvals and Updates.

Explanation of Policy Changes. This change updates guidance for inspectors to issue OpSpec A318, Approval of a Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS)/OpSpec A319, Fatigue Education and Awareness Training (FEAT) Program Initial Approval and Updates, consistent with the limitations and conditions set forth by AFS-200 as it pertains to the approval memo issued for FEAT approval and acceptance of the FEAT, as well as provide the process by which AFS-200 evaluates and approves each certificate holder's FEAT programs. This change incorporates new information into Volume 3, Chapter 18, Section 3 and creates new Volume 3, Chapter 58, Section 4, Fatigue Education and Awareness Training (FEAT) Program Approvals and Updates; and it also includes an editorial update to Volume 3, Chapter 58, Section 1 (reserved paragraphs), and renumbering paragraphs in Volume 3, Chapter 58, Sections 2 and 3 for use in new Section 4.
