1          AEG receives a request to develop draft Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Special FAR (SFAR), Draft Orders, and Advisory Circulars (AC)

1.1       Open project record in accordance with office procedure.

2          Plan/organize development of document (when assigned as team leader)

2.1       Create plan/outline of document for area assignment
-         Ensure plan is organized and comprehensive to cover all areas of concern
2.2       Select team members, or contact team as provided by FAA headquarters
-         Prepare team list with contact information and team member specialty
-         Schedule first meeting or teleconference
2.3       Brief team members on:
-         Purpose and scope of project
-         Team assignments
-         Future team meetings schedule
-         Provide background material and sources
-         Timetable desired

3          Members develop draft of assigned area of document

3.1       Members identify, collect and review all pertinent data
3.2       Members contact technical specialists in FAA and industry for input/data
-         Identify technical specialists through contacts in AEG and Industry
3.3       Members write preliminary draft (of assigned area)

4          Team Leader consolidates individual drafts of assigned areas

4.1       Share draft document and solicit comments from the team, and subject matter experts within the AEG, and industry appropriate

5          Finalize Document

5.1       Review comments, organize and write final draft document

6          Forward document to FAA headquarters for approval and publication

6.1       In accordance with Office Procedures, identify and forward completed document, through responsible manager, to appropriate department(s) within headquarters
