TASK DESCRIPTION:

To determine if an applicant is eligible for a medical certificate and/or Statement of Demonstrated Ability based on the appropriate test.

 

SUBTASK 1:

 

Evaluate the airman’s submission to determine eligibility.

Objective / Skill:

Performance: 

Ensure applicant has required Letter of Authorization, verify authorization for testing, associated medical certificate, and/or statement of demonstrated ability (SODA) has been received at Flight Standards District Office (FSDO).

Conditions:

Using procedures and job aids in FAA Order 8900.1, Vol. 5, Chap. 8, Sec. 1.

Standards:

IAW CFRs and FAA Order 8900.1, Vol. 5, Chap. 8, Sec. 1.

Knowledge:

·              Understand the Regulatory Requirements contained in 14 CFR  Parts 61 and 67.

Determine the type of medical test to administer.

Review Letter of Authorization to determine requirements and type of test to administer.

Conduct the appropriate test as specified in the Letter of Authorization.

Document the results of the medical test and debrief the applicant.

Performance: 

Issue medical certificate and/or SODA and complete appropriate documents if test is satisfactory.  If test is unsatisfactory document, as required.
