TASK DESCRIPTION:

 

Conduct an inspection of a flight simulator and/or flight training device for use in an air carrier training program.

 

SUBTASK 1:

 

Become familiar with the appropriate FAA flight simulator/flight training device guidance and policies.

Objective / Skill:

Performance: 

Review FAA guidance material.

Conditions:

Routine office environment.

Standards:

IAW FAA Order 8900.1, Vol. 3, Chap. 19, Sec. 6 and 14 CFR Part 121.407.

Knowledge:

·                    Understand the Guidance and Policy contained in FAA      Order 8900.1;

Inspect the flight training device to determine its continued suitability to support the Certificate Holder’s proposed training program and document the results.

Objective / Skill:

Performance: 

Evaluate the flight training device and note any deficiencies.

Flight training device.

IAW Certificate Holder’s flight crew training program.

Knowledge:

·              Understand the Certificate Holder’s flight crew training program.

Debrief the results of the inspection with the Certificate Holder and Principal Operations Inspector (POI).

Notify the Certificate Holder and send the inspection report to the POI.
