SUBTASK 1:

Receive certification project notification for HUD installation.

 

Objective/Skill:

The AEG receives a Certification Project Notification (CPN) or becomes aware of a HUD installation in an aircraft. The AEG will conduct an operational suitability evaluation of the HUD.

Conditions:

FAA CPN or other notification process

Standards:

FAA Order 8110.4

Knowledge:

Knowledge of the certification project notification system.

 

 

SUBTASK 2:

Create AEG office project record.

 

Objective/Skill:

Performance:

1) Create AEG Central project record, and

2) Create file folders (if applicable).

Conditions:

AEG office files.

Standards:

In accordance with office practices for use of AEG filing.

Knowledge:

SUBTASK 3:

Review Head-up Display System requirements.

 

Objective/Skill:

Review and become familiar with current FAA regulations and guidance concerning the requirements for Head-Up Display System.

AC 120-28 and other FAA regulations and guidance

Complete and comprehensive review

Understand the regulatory requirements, guidance and policy pertaining

to HUD systems.

 

 

SUBTASK 4:

Review Certification Plan.

Obtain and evaluate the HUD system certification plan and review to determine if operational suitability is acceptably addressed.

ELEMENT 4.1:

AEG Airworthiness Inspector evaluation of the ICA.

Clear communication with the Airworthiness Inspector, and applicant.

ELEMENT 4.3:

Review certification project documents.

Compare certification project documents to the criteria in applicable guidance to determine if they are acceptable.
