Operational safety analysis

The purpose of these AAA and NRA aeronautical studies is to provide operational system safety oversight and analysis for different proposals and studies from the FAA Airports Division considering a Regional Flight Standards Division perspective in accordance with FAA Orders 8260.19 and 7400.2.

AWO provides input to airport airspace studies initiated under nonrule airports (NRA) aeronautical studies (Part 157) including, proposed airport layout plans (ALPs), construction safety and phasing plans (CSPP) for proposed airport construction, modification of standards (MOS),construction on airports including construction of a new ATCT, proposed solar installations, airport noise studies, public events at airports, etc.

10.1. Analyze FAA airport airspace proposal and provide input on operational safety and safety of persons and property on the ground.

10.2. Evaluate request for airport modification of standards (MOS) and provide input on operational safety and effect on safety of persons and property on the ground.

Task: 5.10.1: Analyze FAA Airport Airspace Proposal and Provide Input on Operational Safety and Safety of Persons and Property on the Ground.

Purpose

The purpose of this task is to review and comment on an airport proposal to ensure Flight Standards concerns regarding operational safety, efficiency and safety of persons and property on the ground are addressed in the proposal.

Concurrence/nonconcurrence on operational safety and efficiency considerations to Airports Divisions or ADO.

Task Standard

Concurrence/nonconcurrence addresses all effects of the proposed airspace analysis on the safety and efficiency of flight operations and safety of persons and property on the ground.
