5.11: NAS Change Proposals

Task 5.11.1: Receive, Evaluate, and Provide Concurrence/Nonconcurrence on Proposed Nonstandard FAA Installation of NAS Infrastructure Using WebCM

Purpose

The purpose of this task is to evaluate the safety implications and operational effect of the proposed non-standard installation of NAS infrastructure. In addition it provides early identification of TERPS waiver requirements.

Concurrence/nonconcurrence of the proposal and mitigation, if appropriate in WebCM

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required to Perform Task

     Knowledge of NAS operational and infrastructure requirements

     Knowledge of airport design standards and facilities/equipment installation siting and design criteria

     Skill in applying system safety principles

     Skill and ability in WebCM and AWO Software Tool

     Ability to link local issues with the broader regional and national concerns

     Knowledge of navigational facility standards

     Knowledge of Terminal Instrument Procedure Standards (TERPS)
