Description

Share information on implementation of advanced technologies. Provide for technical outreach and an information sharing program for internal and external customers within their geographic area of assignment as required by Order 1100.1.

The purpose of technical outreach and information sharing is to inform FAA offices and users of existing and emerging NextGen technology programs and associated NAS issues (e.g., Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS), Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B), Electronic Flight Bag, vertically guided approaches, LVO/SMGCS, Data Link, Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Contract (ADS-C), Required Navigation Performance (RNP) Authorization Required (AR), Category II/III, etc.).

The goal is to:

Enhance implementation of FAA services/products

Streamline FAA process performance

Promote efficiency

Ensure internal and external understanding of FAA processes.

Tasks

The tasks represent a set of discrete activities that the AWO will perform in their outreach functions.

12.1 Conduct FAA facility, including FSDO, visits to clarify and explain FAA all-weather operations program, NextGen technologies and associated processes.

12.2 Attend FAA management meetings to clarify and explain FAA all-weather operations program, NextGen technologies and associated processes.

12.3 Attend meetings of state and local aviation authorities, professional organizations, and user community groups to clarify and explain the FAA all-weather operations program, NextGen technologies and associated processes.

5.12: Technical Outreach and Information Sharing

Task 5.12.1: Conduct FAA Facility, Including FSDO, Visits to Clarify and Explain FAA All-Weather Operations Program, NextGen Technologies and Associated Processes.

Purpose

The purpose of this task is to promote outreach and knowledge sharing and familiarize FSDO/CMO personnel with NextGen Technologies and approval processes.
