5.2: Domestic Airport ILS Special Authorization (SA) Category I/II and Category II/III Approach Procedures Facilities

Task 5.2.2: Disseminate Checklists to FAA Lines of Business and Obtain their Concurrence or Nonconcurrence with the Request. Notify Tech OPS to Begin Continuity of Service (COS) Evaluation.

Purpose

The purpose of this task is to obtain FAA lines of business concurrence or nonconcurrence on the establishment of the approach procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required to Perform Task

    Knowledge of NAS operational requirements

    Knowledge of FAA certification rules, policies, and operational system requirements

    Knowledge of ILS low visibility technical requirements i.e., Category II/III standards including Continuity of Service (COS)

    Skill in the use of the AWO Software Tool

    Knowledge of instrument procedure and airport design criteria

    Skill in applying system safety principles

    Ability to link local issues with the broader regional and national concerns

Task Standard
