Purpose :

To determine an applicant’s eligibility for an initial Flight Instructor Certificate, reinstatement of a certificate, renewal of a certificate, or addition of a category or class rating to an existing certificate

1.         Receive certification request from applicant

                        K:         14 CFR Part 61, Subpart H

            1.1        Open PTRS record

2.         Schedule practical test for certification with applicant

                        K:         14 CFR Part 61, Subpart H

 

            2.1        Review applicant’s documents

                        K:         Order 8900.1, Vol. 5, Chap. 2, Sec. 11 

 

            2.2        Determine aircraft category, class and type

                        K:         Order 8900.1, Vol. 5, Chap. 2, Sec. 11 

 

3.         Determine applicant's eligibility

             3.1     If applicant is not eligible, issue Notice of Disapproval and inform applicant of reasons for ineligibility

4.         Determine airworthiness of aircraft

5.         Conduct practical test
