Guidelines for (O) & (M) Procedures

 

The FOEB has identified a need for certain procedures to provide an adequate level of safety while providing relief for the following items. These procedures must be established by the operator. The following guidelines are to help establish these required procedures:

 

 

23-3-A

 

(M)       Maintenance procedure to ensure ELT System is deactivated.                    Applies to both provisos.

 

23-4-A

(O)       Operations procedure to ensure Passenger Address System (PA) is             not required by 14 CFR and to ensure alternate procedures are                  established and used.

(M)       Maintenance procedure to ensure failed Generator is secured and       any Generator Belt debris is removed.

 

24-3

(M)       Maintenance procedure to ensure inoperative Battery is secured                 and the Cable is disconnected or Battery is isolated.

 

25-2-A

(M)       Maintenance procedure to ensure Seat is secured in the FULL              UPRIGHT position.     

 

25-2-B

(O)       Operations procedure to ensure baggage is not stowed under Seat             with inoperative Restraining Bar, Seat is properly placarded, and                 Crew is alerted.

(M)       Maintenance procedure to ensure Seat is secured in the FULL       

            UPRIGHT position if an Armrest is missing.
