TASK DESCRIPTION:

Conduct and/or participate in an air carrier accident investigation.

 

 

SUBTASK 1:

 

Review accident notification details and initially determine FAA’s participation.

Objective / Skill:

Performance: 

Review the accident notification and determine participant requirements.

IAW FAA Order 8020.11 and FAA Order 8900.1, Vol. 7, Chap. 1

Knowledge:

·     Understand the Guidance and Policy contained in FAA Order 8020.11.

·     Know the NTSB 830 rules.             

·     Understand the Guidance and Policy contained in FAA Order 8900.1, Vol. 7, Chap. 1.

·     For international accidents, review and understand the Guidance and Policy contained in ICAO Annex 13.

Address the FAA’s nine responsibilities and coordinate FAA participation.
